Poptheatr is a personal theater for watching movies and shows on mobile devices in complete comfort and privacy.

The Diamond Challenge was an amazing opportunity for us. After presenting our invention at the Northern California pitch location last year, we gained a lot of great feedback from judges and members of the audience. The audience’s reaction in particular was a great confidence booster for us. People really enjoyed the concept because they have experienced they themselves have experienced the problem Poptheatr solves. This pushed us to make our idea into a reality. Following the presentations, we talked with a few of the judges who had some great words for us. We then got their information and were able to talk to them after the competition and discuss our ideas. After putting the feedback to use, we changed our original design from the slightly clunky prototype that we presented to a design that was more practical for normal use.

Last summer, after the Diamond Challenge, we continued working hard on finishing up the new design and finding manufacturers able to produce it. During the past several months, we received finished prototypes of Poptheatr from three manufacturers and began picking up the promotion of our product. The questions we were asked at the Diamond Challenge allowed us to work on our pitching skills and we are now able to communicate our product to others with ease. Following a judge’s suggestion, we decided to launch on Kickstarter, which just launched a few days ago. You can check it out and order Poptheatr here:

No matter where our Diamond Challenge alumni go, we are constantly amazed by how they continue to make an impact on the world for the better.
